Early pregnancy symptoms

Your body starts changing almost immediately after conception. While every pregnancy is different, there are common early signs that may indicate you're pregnant before your missed period.

Common Early Pregnancy Symptoms

  • Missed period: The most obvious sign. If your period is a week or more late, it's time to take a test.
  • Morning sickness: Nausea and vomiting can start as early as 2-3 weeks after conception.
  • Fatigue: Your body is working hard to support a growing baby. Extreme tiredness is common in early pregnancy.
  • Breast tenderness: Hormonal changes can make your breasts sore, tingly, or swollen.
  • Frequent urination: Increased blood flow and pressure on your bladder means more bathroom trips.
  • Food aversions or cravings: Sudden dislike for certain foods or strong cravings for others.
  • Mood swings: Hormonal changes can affect your emotions.
  • Bloating: Similar to PMS bloating, but may be more intense.
  • Light spotting: Implantation bleeding can occur 6-12 days after conception.
